The Senda do Barragán is one of the most charming and complete routes in Galicia, perfect for those looking for nature, history and different experiences in a single day. This guided adventure combines low-difficulty hiking, canoeing, and a river island meal, all framed in a setting of lush forests, crystal clear rivers, and ancient Celtic vestiges.



Walk, paddle and savour Galicia in an unforgettable natural experience



The route begins in Fornelos de Montes and runs through the Fraga do Barragán, following the course of the river between traditional mills, stone bridges and corners full of magic. After about two hours of easy walking, you reach Monte da Cidade, an ancient Celtic fort where there are still remains of walls and circular houses, surrounded by legends about rituals, mouras and hidden treasures.



Hiking, canoeing and gastronomy in the middle of nature



After finishing the walking tour along the Senda do Barragán, the experience continues from the water. We enter the Barragán River and the Eiras reservoir aboard canoes, sailing for about an hour on calm waters, surrounded by a serene and practically virgin landscape.



The most special moment comes when we disembark on Eiras Island, an exclusive enclave without buildings, where we will enjoy an informal meal with quality products in a unique and silent environment. After lunch, we will return by canoe to Oitavén and, from there, we will return to the starting point in 4x4 vehicles, making a stop at a viewpoint to contemplate from above the entire territory traveled during the day.
