The coast of Galicia is much more than beaches and spectacular landscapes: it is culture, tradition and a way of life linked to the sea for centuries. In this unique experience you will have the opportunity to learn first-hand how the sailors of a sustainable fishing boat work, discovering the traditional fishing gear that is still alive in the Rías Baixas.
Coast of Galicia: Discover artisanal fishing and marine life
On board the boat Playa de Sanxenxo you will discover small-scale artisanal fishing, respectful of the environment and deeply linked to the local economy. All the product is dispatched on the same day, guaranteeing 100% fresh fish, with low energy consumption and minimal CO₂ emissions, thus promoting fair and sustainable trade on the coast of Galicia.
The estuary, the boat and a unique natural environment
The experience takes place in the spectacular Ría de Pontevedra, one of the most emblematic enclaves on the coast of Galicia. On its shores coexist cities full of life such as Pontevedra and seaside towns such as Sanxenxo, Portonovo, Marín or Bueu, as well as mythical beaches such as A Lanzada, Silgar, Montalvo or Areas.
The tour includes privileged views of the Atlantic Islands National Park, an authentic natural sanctuary where cliffs, dunes, seabeds and birds turn the landscape into a mosaic of biodiversity. The imposing Isla de Ons stands out, a natural jewel at the entrance to the estuary, full of legends and ecological wealth.
The boat Playa de Sanxenxo, with more than 20 years of sailing, is captained by Sauro Martínez, senior patron of the Santa Rosalía de Sanxenxo Brotherhood and heir to a seafaring tradition of more than four generations. No one better to show you the real essence of the coast of Galicia from the sea.
