The adventure begins in the village of Oceño, where you will enter an ancient trail used by local shepherds. Through meadows and forests, you will ascend to the Collau Llamea, enjoying spectacular views of the Sierra del Cuera and Peñamellera.
From Collado Llamea, you'll head towards Nario, a picturesque set of meadows and cabins surrounded by towering rock formations. Here, you can enjoy a well-deserved rest and take in the panoramic views of the valley.
The next stage will take you along the exciting Seu de Nario, a path that descends the mountainside, through forests and canals, until you reach the Collantes sheepfold, A place full of history and charm.
The highlight of the route is the Seu Collantes or Bermejo, a demanding trail that crosses the Mildón Gorge, offering you breathtaking views and an adrenaline-filled experience. You will overcome vertical canals, gallows and narrow passes, enjoying the wild beauty of this natural environment.
Finally, you will descend through trails and meadows until you reach Oceño again, completing this unforgettable circular route.
What is the best time of year to do this route in terms of weather and trail conditions?
Spring and autumn are usually ideal, with moderate temperatures and less chance of fog. In winter, the route can be snowy and in summer it can be hot, so it is recommended to avoid extreme hot days.
Are there drinking water points along the route or do we have to bring our own supply?
