The adventure begins in Arenas de Cabrales, where you will enter the path of the Caoru, a trail that will take you through a centuries-old chestnut forest and a fairytale landscape. After crossing an artificial canal and a small reservoir of turquoise waters, you will arrive at the Portudera winter resorts, a set of cabins that will transport you to another era.
From there, the landscape changes, entering a labyrinth of valleys and rocky outcrops. The trail will take you through high meadows, some still used for grazing, and others abandoned but full of charm. The feeling of immensity and the beauty of the surroundings will accompany you at all times.
The highlight of the route is the Collado Posadorio, from where you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Duje Valley, the Picos de Europa and the Cantabrian coast. A few steps away, you will find the top of Cabeza Blanca, a natural viewpoint that will take your breath away.
The descent will take you to the Tordín sheepfold, a magical place where nature and traditional architecture merge in perfect harmony. You will continue through the Tenebreu beech forest, a centuries-old beech forest that will envelop you in its mysterious atmosphere and take you to the Vierru gorge.
In this last stage, you will be amazed by the impressive detachment that has transformed the landscape, creating a scenario of wild beauty. The trail will take you through forests and meadows until you reach Extremo los Caminos, where you can enjoy a well-deserved rest and contemplate the beauty of the Asturian coast.
