This circular route from Inguanzo will take you to the top of Cuetón, one of the most emblematic mountains in the area, through a route full of contrasts and natural beauty. You will cross gorges, valleys, sheepfolds and ridges, enjoying panoramic views that will take your breath away.
The adventure begins in Inguanzo, from where you will enter the Foz de Burdio, a narrow and deep gorge that will put you to the test with its aerial and demanding trail. Once you have overcome this first obstacle, you will reach the Vega de Ternas, an open and relaxing landscape that will allow you to regain strength before continuing the ascent.
The next stage will take you through The Channel, a funnel-shaped valley surrounded by imposing limestone cliffs. The climb is constant and demanding, but the beauty of the surroundings will motivate you to keep going.
Upon arrival at Vega los Carros, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Urrieles massif and the Cares gorge. From there, you will ascend the summit hill until you reach the top of the Cuetón, where you will enjoy an unparalleled panoramic view.
The descent will take you through the Ostandi sheepfold and the Bustiello valley, where you'll face a chaotic, rocky stretch that requires attention and skill. Finally, you will arrive at Portillo Busnuevu and descend along the Armadure road to Inguanzo, completing this epic circular route.
Do I need previous mountain experience to do this route?
Yes, due to the length, the slope and some exposed sections, it is advisable to have previous experience in trekking or hiking in the mountains.
