Special 4x4 route Eastern Massif Picos de Europa

Route program:



• Departure: 10.00 a.m. from Hostería Picos de Europa



• Monastery of Santo Toribio (optional visit)



• Mirador de San Miguel (panoramic view of the Eastern Massif, Potes, Camaleño valley and Cantabrian Mountains), Congarna, Camaleño, Los Llanos, Mogrovejo with its medieval tower and town where the latest version of the film Heidy was filmed (optional visit to the School Museum).



• We enter the National Park (track forbidden for private use, authorized exclusively for livestock use and our vehicles duly authorized).



• 11.15 hrs. Peña de Oviedo (Neolithic remains, optional hiking, spectacular panoramic view of the Cantabrian Mountains of Camaleño and Eastern Massif Picos de Europa on the SE face.)



• 12.00 hrs. Ports of Pembes, Las Portillas, Ports of Aliva, Hotel Refugio de Aliva (optional snack) and hiking 15 minutes through the glacier moraine "La Lomba del Toro"



• 12.30 hrs. La Lomba del Toro (we continue with the vehicle through the glacial moraine), La Raya until we reach Las Vegas de Sotres, you can usually see herds of chamois.



• 13.15 hrs. Vegas de Sotres, Sotres.



• 13:00 hrs. Sierra Viewpoint. Spectacular landscapes (Sotres)



• 13.30 hrs. Sotres (optional typical food)



• 15.00 hrs. Sotres (Exit), Tresviso road until you reach the Cantabria border. Here we enter again along a restricted track, authorized exclusively for livestock use and our authorized vehicles.
• From Bejes by road through the Desfiladero de La Hermida, continuing along it to the arrival point, around 6:00 p.m. (approx.) in Potes.
