




There are islands that seem made to go without haste: stone paths, silence, sea everywhere and stories that feel ancient. Sálvora is one of those visits that surprise you for the unknown, for its landscape and for everything it keeps between villages, granaries and a lighthouse with memory.
Isla de Sálvora: A trip to disconnect and discover a little-traveled corner of Galicia
The Sálvora Island experience. consists of visiting the island by private boat departing from Pobra do Caramiñal, to get to know the most unknown island of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park (PNIAG). The activity lasts 8 hours and is carried out with a guide accredited by the PNIAG, who accompanies you to understand the history, the flora and fauna, the granaries, the old village and its lighthouse. The boat is round trip and has 10 seats.

A mermaid presides over the port and opens the door to the legend of the "Mariño", linked to the first inhabitants of the island. During the visit you will be able to see the village and some preserved elements, such as the oven and traditional containers.
The tour continues to the granary area, including the community granary where corn was stored, and others dedicated to the heroines of Sálvora: Cipriana Crujeiras, Cipriana Oujo Maneiro, Josefa Parada and María Fernández Oujo, protagonists of the rescue after the shipwreck of the ship Santa Isabel (1920). You will also visit the lighthouse from where the shipwreck was seen. On the way back, you can see the rafts of the Arousa estuary, an area especially prolific in mussel farming.
